Our Favourite Lofts in Kitchener - Waterloo

By Condo Culture

Kitchener - Waterloo is filled with tons of architecturally stunning factories and warehouse buildings. Many of these have already been converted and make up some of our favourite condos in the city! Here are Condo Culture’s top 3 favourite loft buildings right now:

Seagram Lofts in Waterloo

From 1857 to 1992, the Seagram Distillery plant operated in Waterloo as one of the community’s leading industries. In 1999, two of its standing buildings were converted and became the first major hard loft conversion in Waterloo - Seagram Lofts. Today, these iconic buildings offer beautiful two storey units complete with exposed brick, large windows and work-live options. The location is unbeatable with access to all of Uptown, Bauer District, and The Shops. This will always be one of our favourite lofts because of the charm, history, and character.

Kaufman Lofts in Waterloo

In the heart of the Innovation District, Kaufman Lofts is a building that has stood the test of time. Once the Kaufman Footwear Factory, this building has kept much of it’s original heritage with existing concrete posts and the original boardroom complete with fireplace and mouldings. There are many hard-loft features in the units such as polished concrete floors, floor to ceiling windows, and exposed ductwork. With the new Google Development Headquarters and Transit Hub as their neighbours, Kaufman Lofts is sure to be a historical landmark in the ever growing Innovation District.

Arrow Lofts in Kitchener

Originally constructed in 1913, this building housed the Arrow Shirt Factory for over 80 years. Now transformed into Arrow Lofts, this stunning hard-loft building combines a modern flare with traditional loft characteristics such as exposed ductwork and bricking. The penthouse collection features stunning two-floor units with impeccable finishes and breathtaking views. Located near Downtown Kitchener, it is walking distance from a host of amenities including Victoria Park and the Farmers Market.
